Weekend Opener against Mason City IFRFC 36 – RC 17

The Iowa Falls Rugby Club opened their Fall League competition September 7 against River City of Mason City at the local pitch. Iowa Falls quickly took the lead in the first 4 minutes with Willem Dreyer crashing through four tackles for a 5 point lead. The pace of the match changed to back and forth offensive attacks until River City’s wing scrampered around IFRFC’s defense to lead 5 – 7. Jake Miller was able to recapture the momentum with a try shortly before half time Iowa Falls leading 10 – 7.The second half scoring quickly continued with Craig Pruismann, Markey Felix , and Justin Liekweg adding tries to push the score to 29 – 7. River City was able to add two late tries with Justin Liekweg adding another try for the local club for IFRFC victory 36 – 17. The Iowa Falls Rugby Club ‘s next match is September 14 in Des Moines.
