The IFRFC Foundation
The Iowa Falls Rugby Football Club Corporation has for many years provided citizens and youth with a public use rugby/soccer/recreation complex. In 2000 we are concentrating on several things and certainly not least we would like to raise funds to eliminate the debt associated with the complex expansion over the past 5 years. In 1993 the complex was expanded to 35 acres and the club also purchase an adjacent building to store equipment. This debt was refinanced in late 1999 and consolidated into one outstanding loan. We are looking to eliminate this debt as soon as possible. The fundraising efforts of the club are for several projects to be completed in the spring of 2000. We will post pictures of the accomplishments as we near completion.
The first project we are in the process of completing is two-fold. The Daniel E. Lange Memorial was established to develop a playground at the Open Space recreation Complex. Iowa Falls was also chosen to host the 2000 All Iowa Tournament in Iowa Falls. The past several years we have rented a tent for concessions. This year on March 11 several club members gathered to begin work on a permanent shelter structure to be used for concessions during the tournament. The permanent shelter structure will also be used for club functions as well as be available for rent by the public for gatherings such as family reunions and company picnics. The same day we removed over 11 ton of topsoil in the adjacent area where "Boonie's Playground will be placed.
The summer project will be to work on the irrigation system for the open space complex. Our goal is to have a new well placed near the center of the open space complex. We will also bury a structure of underground plumbing to feed the area fields. A self propelled, walking type sprinkler is being looked at to provide irrigation to each field during the hot/dry summer months. We hope to have this project under way to provide some much needed moisture during the coming summer months.
We are selling 4x4 squares of concrete in the shelter for $150. Each square sold will have a 4"x6" metal plaque inset in the concrete being the name of the person dedication the concrete. Montey Halls is working on a raffle to be held in the summer. The club is hosting the 2000 All Iowa Tournament and the annual Taz 7's the last Saturday in June. These specific fundraising efforts will hopefully meet and exceed the cost of the projects as well as our yearly budget which exceeds $18000.
It is also our goal to raise over $200,000 for the foundation. These funds will be set aside as a permanent endowment fund to sustain and expand the facility well beyond our lifetime. The interest from this endowment fund will only be used for the maintenance and expansion of the facility. This fund drive is beginning today but has no completion date set in stone. We realize the community of Iowa Falls and the area is blessed with wonderful new facilities paid for by public donations. Therefore we realize our fund drive may take several years to complete. The members of our club have a reputation for tenacity, endurance and commitment. This reputation will help us reach our goal, no matter how long it may take.

The original facility was a ramshackle homestead on seven acres along Georgetown road adjoining the south edge of Iowa Falls. Private funds and volunteer labor are helping to transform the area into the finest rugby facilities in the nation. Although the work we set out to do is not complete. Check out the Foundation information page listed below and you will see the master plan of the work we have yet to accomplish. Be sure to see the inside of the renovated clubhouse.

The photo here is of the 30 acre addition that was purchased in 1993 by the Iowa Falls Rugby Football Club Foundation. The grounds were leveled and seeded for the purpose of adding additional fields and open space. We currently maintain 5 Rugby/Soccer fields ready for play at a minutes notice. Nowhere in the United States will you find a facility like those in Iowa Falls Iowa. Shower facilities and camping areas have been added since 1993. Future expansion plans include baseball/softball diamonds, lighted fields for night games and tournaments and permanent concession facilities. We are always seeking donations and funding to continue our dreams of maintaining the finest rugby facilities in the Midwest.
